Prescott was founded in 1863 by President Abraham Lincoln who designated it the capital of the Western Territory.

Today, Prescott located at a cool 5,300 feet above sea level, is a favorite get-away of Arizonans and a top "must visit" location for our Out of State Visitors. The small town charm and hospitality makes Prescott "Everybody's Hometown".

Prescott is known for its famous Town Square that hosts many events throughout the year and is bordered by Whiskey Row - one of Arizona's most famous streets.

If you like museums, Prescott has four of them with the most well known being the Sharlot Hall Museum. Prescott is also well known for its many art and antique shops and, if you like the outdoors, you will love the hiking, biking and kayaking that is available. Of course, there are many golf courses available for those who enjoy the links. Prescott is also the host of the nation's oldest and largest rodeo.

In the evening, you can enjoy one of the many restaurants that offer a large variety of cuisine and there are many music and dancing establishments for your evening activity.
